Psalm 90:13-17

Listen to this passage

13 Relent, O LORD! How long will it be?
Have compassion on your servants.

14 Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love,  that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.

15 Make us glad for as many days as you have afflicted us, for as many years as we have seen trouble.

16 May your deeds be shown to your servants,
your splendor to their children.

17 May the favor [a] of the Lord our God rest upon us; establish the work of our hands for us—
yes, establish the work of our hands.

We tend to grow impatient with God's timing when it comes to being rescued from under the weight of our world. In our impatience, we fail to see that within our affliction lies the crux of revelation.—the pivotal moment where God uses our crisis to clarify our path. Looking back it is easier to see it was often pain and loss that put us on the road to joy, gladness, and favor. When we finally emerge from that dark pit, our hope is that He reveals His splendor to His children, and His children's children. The last verse of this Psalm emphasizes that God establishes the work of our hands for us.  We are the instruments of that blessed work HE does in us, through us, and FOR us.

In our weakness, His strength is made perfect (2Cor.12:9).
