RADIO MINISTRY IN KENYA, AFRICA: MILLIONS OF PEOPLE LISTENING EVERYDAY --
Recently I received a letter from a good friend, Malcolm Wild, pastor of Calvary Chapel Merritt Island, Florida, updating me on our radio ministry in Kenya. He wrote:
"I thought it time to update you on the exciting developments with the radio ministry in Kenya. Your involvement continues to be a tremendous blessing. There are now eight Calvary guys on the Biblia Husema radio network which now reaches more than half the whole country of Kenya.
"I recently met, here in Florida, with the Bishop of Africa Inland Church to discuss the ministry in Kenya and he expressed how blessed the people are in receiving your teaching. He told us that millions of people listen to the station every day. He met in Nairobi recently with the evangelical leaders of the country from different denominations and they each expressed what a blessing the Calvary Chapel pastors are to Kenya. [Note: the people of these countries speak and understand English.]
"We have now completed the radio station we have been building in Kijabi and are ready to put in the equipment we shipped over. We are broadcasting our own 24 hour English speaking stations from that location into the city of Nairobi and surrounding districts on 90.9 FM. Your program will continue to be broadcast on the full network."We are hoping to use this new station to reach the young people and we will focus on programming accordingly. We will also program the station with contemporary worship music.
"We are continuing to expand as a tower is being built in the northern area of Eldoret. This will enable us to beam the programs into Uganda. If the Lord wills and as He provides we will build towers throughout Kenya which will enable us to reach into much of Eastern Africa with the wonderful teaching of the Calvary Chapel pastors. Thank you again for your continued involvement. May the Lord receive all the glory."
We are very excited about what the Lord is doing throughout and thankful to be a part of it.
